Why I did not get any job?

I have been working on upwork last 8 months. I completed only 5 jobs on upwork. After that, I spent a lot of money but still did not get a new job from Upwork. I bid every day, using Boost on my profile, and projects, and also in proposals. Now I am losing hope to stay here. Can anyone assist me with how can I get a job on Upwork?
