Why did Upwork take 20% of my bonus when the job paid more than $500?

From what I can see from looking at other requests, Upwork's commission on bonuses is supposed to match that of the job it's for. I received a $100 bonus for a $750 job (meaning that Upwork took 20% of the first $500, then took 10% of the remaining $250), but they took $20, or 20%, of my bonus for their commission. Can anyone explain why they did that?

What likely happened is that the bonus was processed first. Check the fee on the main payment, it's probably $115 (20% * $400 + 10% * $350). Combined between your bonus and the main payment, you should have $850 payments and $135 in fees.

Yes! That is it exactly! Thank you, Wes!
