Why did data entry and transcription get lumped into one category?

I did that. As I pointed out, data entry and transcription are now lumped into one category so that I get pages of data entry jobs I have to sort through to find the transcription jobs.

Nothing has changed and I am getting pretty tired of having to sort through/flag dozens of the exact same data entry scam job postings by the same group of people who tell you to contact them on WhatsApp. They ALL use the title "Online posting", having a stupidly high budget to attract bids and then tell people to contact them offplatform.
