Why my contract is on hold

I was working on an hourly contract. At the end of the week, I received a mail ''Your contract is on hold.'' I don't know why this happened. Can anyone tell me when I can start working again?

Most likely the client's payment method repeatedly declined Upwork's attempts to charge for the previous week's hours.

It's between your client and Upwork, nothing you can do and Upwork won't discuss your client's account with you.

Probably because there was a problem with the client’s payment method. Such as: the expiration date being out of date.

 

It is not your fault.

It is not your problem.

There is nothing you can do about it.

The client already knows about this.

You simply stop working on this contract until you are informed that the contract is no longer on hold.

Start working when the hold is lifted.

That may be in an hour.

Or a day.

Or a week.
Or never.
