Can I somehow switch my freelancer account into a client and be able to post a job?

Can I post a job without creating a new account?

Hi Balan,

You don't need to create a new account entirely, but you will need to open a Client profile from your already existing account. Go to Settings > Contact Info and choose New Client Account to get started. Feel free to check this article for more information.
