Will a contract canceled by the client affect my JSS?

Hello, I recently received two new contracts, but after accepting them, I realized that I'm not suitable for either of the jobs. No payments have been made between me and the clients yet. Can I ask the clients to cancel the contracts? Will this affect my Job Success Score (JSS)?

Of course, this is my fault. I was too impatient at the time, so I didn't think it through carefully before accepting these two contracts.

Additionally, I want to ask how long it took for everyone to achieve a stable income on Upwork. I feel like I'm reaching my limit and considering finding a traditional job, but I don't want to give up just yet. Could you please give me some advice?

Thanks so much!!

Clients can leave a private review (whether positive or negative) even on contracts that aren’t funded, and yes, this can impact your JSS.

So, why apply to jobs that don’t seem like a match?
