Hi,
I'm about to submit my application to be considered for work on Upwork and see how effective this site is. However, I am currently employed and this would only be to supplement my earnings. That said, when I submit my application, will my current employer get notified since they use Upwork ? I would want to make them aware.
Thank you

They won't be notified, but they might stumble across your profile.

If, for some reason, you would rather your employers don't stumble upon your Upwork profile, simply set it to "private" - that way only clients you apply to will see it.

Unless he applied for one of theirs jobs. Until you work for a client you can not know the client's name.

Generally speaking, employers:
- will not know
- do not care
BUT, keep in mind:
The PURPOSE of Upwork is to connect freelancers with clients.
Upwork strives to MAXIMIZE client's opportunities to hire an appropriate freelancer, and part of that includes maximizing their ability to find freelancers on the site.
It is true that there are "privacy settings." And these are effective to the extent that is possible.
But Upwork's purpose is NOT to maintain the anonymity of freelancers. If you use Upwork, it means putting information about yourself on the Internet. There is nothing that Upwork can do to prevent users from copying and pasting information from Upwork to other sites.
