Hi all, a client asked me to convert a pdf to Doc. After I had done the job and sent it to him he refused to start a contract and said that he had hired some one else but I could not see the job on his job history ?? How can I know that he really hired another freelancer

I think you are focusing on the wrong thing. It is immaterial if he hired somebody else or not, the issue is you worked before you were hired, and therefore worked for free. Don't do that again.

Don't be too hard on yourself about this. Lots of new freelancers have made the same mistake.

The important thing is that you learn from this mistake and not make the same mistake again in the future.
