Would I be violating Upwork's policy if I were to apply for a client's internship?

Preface: I have not yet applied or communicated my interest.

One of my clients is a digital marketing agency; with the experience I've gained copy editing the company's material, I feel I know at least enough about the field to apply for a hands-on internship. It just so happens the client has one open. I'm on excellent terms with them, and they're all really friendly people.

I was wondering whether it would be a violation of my contract with Upwork if I were to apply for this internship outside of the platform. Since it would not be part of my freelancing, would it still constitute a breach?

Yes because you originally met the client on Upwork. So, any work you do for this particular client for a two year period has to go through Upwork.

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying!

Guess I'll just wait two years, lol... (Or find another company to intern with)
