Your experience with Talent Clouds

So… in the past few weeks, I got two emails from UW congratulating me on being added to talent clouds. The thing is – I’ve been a member of 8 talent clouds and apart from two that are posting totally unrelated jobs, others are silent - noting posted...ever. And for those that have something posted - even though talent cloud name is “company graphic design talent cloud”, jobs posted on those talent clouds are usually translation, sales manager and such.

I’ve yet to find a job worthy of sending proposal to (or at least design related) – so I was wondering for those freelancers who are talent cloud members – did you get any work there? Or did you see anything meaningful posted there?

I let the talent specialists invite me to those jobs if there is one I fit into. I don't really browse those jobs a lot. I think talent clouds are just companies that put people into a pool and then post jobs. It's not really a cloud for just your speciality.

Looks like you had more luck with those talent specialists -  invitations I got from them quite often were totally unrelated to my work...
As for talent clouds -  yes, recent ones have only company names - but older ones have also a category in the name (graphic design) - but most of those clouds are inactive.

The ones that recruit for Enterprise seem to be pretty good at matching me. There are also the people who manage the cloud for the enterprise client, and they reach out sometimes. I think sometimes they put you in the cloud because they want to keep you just in case. I'm in two where they didn't hire me but I'm in there anyway. 😄
