client hired me out of blue and asking to send money on his behalf, scam??

he sent me this message

Hi I'd like to propose you an offer that we have IT team based in indian and I would like to finance them, let's say if i pay you on upwork 2000$ will you pay to our employee 1300$ via upi?

he is a new client and has no past work history.

looks like a scam!!!! please suggest

It seems like the client is doing money laundering. I dont recommend you to accept his offer because it may implicate you into criminal chain.

Thanks, one of my friend told me this is a scam as he will start a dispute after he gets the money so i didnt went ahead.

stragnely the contract got suspended by upwork, so we are good .
