client mistakenly ended contract

A client mistakenly ended contract while attempting to increase the fee.  I received a request for refund from upwork and an apology from the client.  He wants to pay the remaining balance on the job and add a fee for work added to the original contract.

Hello, I received another warning yesterday that the problem is not resolved and the mistaken request for funds returned will be go into effect tomorrow. Please advise.

There is no way to "resolve" it. The client can pay you what you are owed as a bonus and you can approve the refund request. There is no way to reverse the request.
