% commission on Upwork with my client?

Hi!I am novice on Upwork, but have a lot of experience with Web Development. I started project of my client besides Upwork and then I offered them using Upwork as perfect platform for organize workflow and payments. And only yesterday I learned that in this case Upwork can work without commission. Is it true? The client has already registered, sent me an offer and I will use Upwork today. Thank you for reply
