create fake attractive projects

Day and night, the upwork team is trying to create fake attractive projects for the most profitable collection of money for Connects!
What is the probability that you did not receive an answer to the project in your specialization, because it was artificially created?

I feel you, Oleg!

This is getting out of hand! We've figured out scammers MO and now we are getting these fake jobs. I cannot think of any other purpose of these other than UW trying to milk us for connects.

Hi Branko, Oleg.

There are other possible explanations, and it's not new or unique to this platform.

Data harvesting and disturbance from competition is more likely and has multiple possible sources.

The issues Upwork has are made by Upwork. More scams than jobs is only happening here. It didn't happen before Upwork encouraged everyone to be a skilled freelancer, despite the fact they had no skills and no business on the platform. Competition has nothing to do with it. There are numerous excellent platforms.

The solution to the majority of all the problems on Upwork is to cease the obsession with making everyone a freelancer and getting the corresponding connects and other fees they encourage freelancers to spend.

Hi Jeanne 👋

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Are you open to the idea that perhaps there is more to this topic then just pinning it all on Upwork?

With regards to your opinion on my comment, my response is that competition is the core of open marketplaces, how could that not be a likely factor? My sujestions are not a unique phenomenon in bussiness by any stretch.

May I ask why you seem to invest so much effort in a platform you seem to have very little confidence in?

That is the craziest conspiracy theory I've ever heard, I think we pin it all on UW because they are making the changes that are not working for us, not the competition, not external factors.

I know you didn't ask me, but I haven't left because I spent too many years here and still have a few customers, I'll leave when that stops, the platform closes or I find a new job that takes all my time. May I ask you why you defend these changes? what do you see that we are not seeing?

Thanks Miriam.

My piont is that there is more to this topic then pinning it on one problem and blaming one source ie Upwork.

Of course you are welcome to ask. If it seems like I'm defending changes that is not my intention.

I didn't mentioned any type of conspiracy, or theory. I offered realistic and known possiblties for consideration.

I have experienced freelancers posting "fake jobs" here and else where. Have you seen that?

Also I should mention Ih seen this since day 1, starting 7 years ago all the way through any changes.

Yes, changes are always happening, but this time is really affecting a lot of us to the point that there's no more work anymore. That is why a lot of people are mad, and now they are even making me doubt if the jobs are real and I'm just throwing money away.

I joined like 5-6 years ago and you could hardly see fake jobs and scammers as you see them now, at that time you still had to take some tests if you wanted to join, and we didn't also have this weird system where customers can't see your proposals,  that's why it wasn't so bad.

I've definitely seen a lot fake jobs / time wasting jobs from day one and also seen people saying similar things, just in different industries.

I agree 100% with you removing tests wasn't a good change and a lot of the changes are very questionable.

I totally understand the frustration and get when livelihood is on the line it causes huge anxiety. We have a saying where I'm from, better to get organised then get mad. When the market changes I assess and change my stratagies.

How do you know they are fake? I have to say I have been experiencing the same problem.
