deadlines? how do they work exactly?

if i have a deadline for a project, say Sept 15th, does that mean the project is due by midnight of the 14th or by midnight of the 15? also, whose time zone is used when deadlines are set? mine? the clients? greenwich mean time?

i look at my contract for this job and all it lists is Due: September 15th

Whatever you clarified and agreed with the client.

Also, if it says September 15th, you are either 3 months too late, or 9 month too early....
