I received an email message ostensibly from "Upwork.com".
But when I clicked on the button within the email message, the page does not actually exist.
To me, this appears to be either:
- a very well-crafted, sophisticated, convincing phishing attemp
[or]
- an authentic email from an Upwork faction, presenting a link that doesn't work.
Update:
I tried the link again and it took me to a page within Upwork.com.
So now I'm thinking that there was a temporary technical glitch. Or perhaps an intermittent technical glitch. Now I see this:
This led me to a series of about 10 screens which asked questions about my Upwork business activities.
I no longer believe that this was a phishing attempt.
I hope that nobody who sees this attempts to create a support ticket on my behalf.
I don't need any assistance, but I decided to leave the error message in place in case anybody wants to look into it on behalf of others.

Don't start giving them ideas.

Hi Preston,
