got Offer for Illegal activity

I got 1 offer and that employer-paid me bonus of $2360 without working on anything and he asked me to send $1300 via UPI to someone in India. It seemed like he want to use my account to send money to some other people. I refunded the amount but Upwork needs to see these kinds of people

The bonus will never clear (the client's payment method can't be charged that amount). They just want to steal $1300 of your money.

Report the client.

1) The bonus of $2360 would've never gotten processed because it was paid from a stolen credit card. The real owner of the credit card would've declined that payment and you would've ended up with $0.

2) Why do you think someone on the internet of all places will pay you a significant amount of money for *FREE*?

Either way, it was a good call from your side to issue the scammer the refund.
