Hi! if I suddenly stopped receiving invitations, although there were a lot of them before, does it mean that something is wrong with my profile? Maybe some kind of ban? How to check it? Thank you!

Hi Alina,
Thank you for your message. I checked your account and I can confirm that there is no ban or suspension on your account. Various factors go into search results, and results may differ over time, partly to allow more freelancers a chance to be discovered. Some considerations may include Freelancer skills, experience, platform ratings, and other elements geared toward determining a potential match for the client’s job.
Thank you,
Pradeep

Hi Pradeep.
The same thing happened to me, so according to your anwser there's a sort of "temporary suspension" of the freelancers profile on the clients search, or better still; upwork temporarly stops highlighting the freelancers profile, is that it?

Hi Marco,
Not at all! While there are many factors that go into search results as Pradeep explained, Upwork does not purposely hide freelancer profiles without your knowledge. You may be thinking of Private Profiles. Please know that in this case, to help keep the marketplace thriving and vibrant for everyone, we occasionally change a profile from public to private. We'll notify you by email if we change your profile to private, and you can request it to be reset to public at any time.
I went ahead and checked your profile and can confirm it is currently public.

Hello Pradeep,
That is similiar thing in my profile too. I am a top rated Freelancer and it was going well. But maybe more than 1 month I didnt get any invite. Can you check my profile please. Because 1 month is not a short time.
Best regards,

I am also not getting any invitation from the last 2-3 months. before that, I usually get 5-7 invitation/week. Has Upwork changed its algorithm and something like this? OR clients are declining from Upwork to another platform.

Hi Rohit,
I'm speaking from a freelancer's perspective. I have noticed the same decline in the number of invites too and this can be contributed to a lot of factors, some we may not be even aware of. Remember, we are not privy to clients' reasons why they invite or do not invite freelancers, or any of their actions for that matter.
Please also consider that the demand for jobs may not be the same every time and aside from waiting for invites, you have the option to apply to jobs by submitting proposals.
You can also create Project Catalogs based on the skills and services you offer. This is a new method for our freelancers to have clients come to them, giving freelancers the opportunity to create ‘projects’ that are pre-scoped with price, deliverables, and timeline. Clients can then search for these projects via a series of category pages (specific skills) and purchase them in just a few clicks.
You may also want to consider upskilling and learning new skills to increase your marketability. Competition is getting tough not only in Upwork but also on other platforms, especially since most people nowadays opt to work remotely. One possible reason might be also the fewer demands for jobs that fall under your selected skill set. You can also revisit the skills you have selected in your profile, only if applicable.
We also highly encourage you to continue to work to become a Top-Rated or Top Rated Plus Freelancer once you get enough recent work history. Having these badges in your profile will increase your invite and hire rate.

I also not getting invitation since a few months.
I am quite disapointed. I don't know what's wrong with my profile.
If anyone can share some tips to me, it will be helpful.
Thanks

The few I receive are usually for a pittance and not in my field.
Aug 19, 2023 07:05:45 AM by Rohit R
what should be the reason? In my case, I got 95% of my total jobs from invitations. there are high chances to get hired through invitations.
I think It may the Upwork strategy to not showing the freelancer's profile to clients so that we have to apply for the job using expensive connects.
Also, if you will pay more, you will get a top position. because there is no limit of connect that freelancers are using. this is a complete exploitation of both clients and freelancers. Because, in the case of freelancers, a below avg can set his proposal at the top by using Connects and the client will see this type of proposal at the top and he will end up with a bad service.

I have wondered the same tihng in terms of profiles kept hidden to force freelancers to use connects which are now set at 16 per project. This gets to be a signficant outlay of money after time. I'm listed as an expert vetted freelancer so I would think I'd be receiving more frequent invitationss than is the case. Confusing.

My (legitimate) invitations have been few and far between as well. There's been an increase in scam and nonsense invitations, which lead to disappointment when I check the job.

Glad I found this stirng as I though it was just me!! I stopped receiving quality invitations a few months ago. Those I do receive are highly suspect for the most part. I see this seems to be a common issue on the platform.

Hey,
I do not receive any invitations for a long time.
The worst is that a couple of days ago I received 2 invitations for jobs that do not match my skills - the invitations were for a writer, I am a 3d-artist.
This is too far from my skills.
Where am I wrong?
Cheers
