Hello!
I have a question. I received an invite for a job but the job was posted almost a year ago.
I checked the client and they seem legit. They have good reviews. However I'm a completely new user and haven't taken any jobs so far I was wondering if this is scamming.
Or is it something normal? Searching for freelancers for old jobs?
Thank you

Ignore the fact that the job was posted almost a year ago.
Give this job the same type of attention and scrutiny you would give any other job invitation.
Look at the information that is available to you.
Ask for clarification if you have questions about the job.
Follow Upwork's rules.
Because you are new, come here and ask us as many questions as you want to.
We can help you navigate this safely.

I wouldn't say that it's "normal", but it may be that they need to hire somebody to do the exact same task and it was easier to re-activate the old posting instead of creating a new one. But no matter what jobs you accept, always make sure that a client's payment method is verified and the money is in escrow (in the case of fixed price jobs) or you use the time tracker correctly (in the case of hourly jobs) - that's the best way to protect yourself.
