message room- active candidacy

Hi, I am new to upwork and I got an invite to put a proposal in for a textile design job.

I noticed there are alot of people going for the same job, and client is talking to alot of people.

The client Tom.....is showing up in my message room (see attached ) even though he hasnt replyed back to my proposal (to his invite for work) and has not intiated a chat in the message rooms either.

Wondering why he would be in my message room?

I can see a message on my profile that says "active candidacy"?? What happens next?

Hi Bettina,

This is showing in your messages section because the client has invited you to submit a proposal to his job post. This means that the client is considering you for his project, but you have not been hired at this point yet. This will be a great opportunity for you to submit a proposal with information as to why the client should hire you and that you are the person qualified for the job they wanted to complete.
