migration? updating? how do you calculate that hourly?

Hello,

I wonder how can you hourly calculate the updating or migration time?

For example, you finished the actual work and now you're just waiting for updating the server which will take 6 hours but there's actual work you'll do. maybe you'll just look at the screen every 30 mins.

do you calculate those hours as actually worked hour? don't forget that you still using "internet, electricity, checking every 30 mins .. etc"

P.S I'm talking about "manually time". I already read a lot of topics about how Upwork timer works.

Thank you

Are you talking about for an estimate?

If I am just dropping files on someone I turn off the timer and walk away.

I’ve had similar thoughts re: what to do when I am rendering files for clients and am unable to use my recording studio for any other projects. It really ties me up and the Upwork time tracker sucking up %15 of my CPU only makes it worse.

It's probably something you should discuss with your client. If you're not doing the job as a fixed price job and instead are doing hourly, not every client will let you add manual time anyway. And remember that it's not covered by Upwork payment protection either.
