pointless re-verify

Hello,

 

I'm a top rated freelancer and I verified my identity last month. Now I have got the same request again.

 

Taking 10 minutes to do it is not a big deal, although I would prefer that Upwork respects my time rather then feeling entitled to waste it on pointless excercises.
I have passed it and it was no different then the previous one.

 

The bigger issue is that my account is on temporary hold and it lasts longer then 10 minutes. Upwork claims that it has up to 48 hours to release it.
I'm worried about how this is presented to the clients.

 

The main question is - why do Upwork even does it so often? Do you think that my identity changed within a month?

At times, for a variety of reasons, we need to ask our users to verify their identity or other information. Please know we do try to avoid doing this repeatedly. However, as part of our ongoing work to keep the Upwork marketplace a secure place for freelancers and clients, we must reach out to users again sometimes. We apologize for the inconvenience.

 

To verify your identity, log into your Upwork account and click on “Settings.” In the left-hand column, choose “Identity Verification.” Follow the steps there to begin verification. For tips on correctly completing the process and details about the documents needed, click here.

if you can also check my request, its been pending for last 1 week, every time i apply for ID verification, it says Customer support is reviewing your documents, and then after day or 2 day, i get the notification again to apply for ID Verification, what happened to last request, no one knows, i dont get any email ? is it a bug or what ?

I made my account last year and verified my account. This year I returned to finally work online and I'm required to do identification verification again. My driver's license has been rejected about 4 times. I don't understand this is a valid identification card. And my selfie photo was never approve.

 

 

I need help. This is literally my id.

My account was already approved of ID verification once. I'm a US citizen.

You need to wait for Support to contact you. Might take a few days, but you have to wait.

Hello Upwork support team,

My account has been suspended at 16th on september.

So, I submitted my identify that Upwork requests in a mail and It took more than 48 hours since submitting the specific document for my identify.
But there is no any response from Upwork yet.

Also, as you can see in the image I attached, I can't update the request with my identify again.

Currently, I am working with 3 projects at same time on Upwork and I have some money on Upwork.

I would appreciate if the support team reviews my identify and gets back my account quickly.
Actullay, I want to work in just Upwork continueously and now I am frustrated.

Hi Upwork Community,
My account is fully verified with my correct name and identification National Identity Card. But, suddenly I get a notification that my ID card is not verified when I click to verify I see another person's name in the ID field. Don't know why my name is not visible in this place and there is no option to edit my name. Even my upwork profile has been running for 2 years with my correct name correct photo and valid ID card verification. Please resolve this issue. I have had a problem for 1 week in my account. Please take action immediately.

The verification request you're seeing is for the account holder of a billing method you recently added. Since the billing method is not under your name, you must verify that person's identity before you can use it. Feel free to proceed with the verification as requested.

Hello Upwork Team,

 
I completed my Identity Verification about 2 weeks ago. I uploaded a Government ID that does not have my middle name on it. The bank account I have linked to my profile has my middle name. I would like to re-upload a different Government ID which has my middle name as per my name in the bank. 
 
Can you please help me with the process to re-upload my Government ID?

Thank you for your message. You do not need to re-verify your Upwork account to add a payment method with the middle name. You can proceed with adding the payment method with the full name and our team will reach out to you if they need more information or request a verification on the account again.

I have a freelancer account that has already completed the ID verification process since a couple of years ago. (My account address matched with my ID). I'm currently visiting my relatives in another country with a long-stay permit for family visit. I have stayed in this country since April 2023. I will be back my home country at the end of this year. However, I received an email from an Upwork classification specialist saying that I logged in my account from another country and asked me to change my account address. I'm currently not having a permanent residence permit in this country, nor a bank account in case I need a bank statement to verify my address. What can I do in this case?

I have discussed this with the team handling your case and it looks like they have already cleared your account now. You can now access your account without any further verification unless you decide to change your country of residence on Upwork.

Hello, can somebody help me with verifying my Identity. My ID verfication got denied and it said my profile picture is not me but it is me, so i change my profile picture and I uploaded my Philippine Passport and my US permanent resident card although it is expired but i have a 4 years extention for it. Now it is saying my Location needs to be verify? How long that will take? Because i have an on going project and its my very first job in Upwork.

I have changed the payment method because the previous one was blocked but when I'm changing the method It is asking for verification so I need to upload my verification doc or the person whose account I'm integrating?

I was trying to re-verify my account but I was having some issues since I live in Kosovo and Kosovo is not added yet on the country list for ID verification. I tried adding Albania since it's a neighbouring country but I was still getting errors.
If anyone has/had this similiar problem and found a solution please do let me know!

Hello, Im having a problem in another account but it wont let me upload anything in the forum for questions because I was trying to verify my ID and my account got suspended. Even if i already verified my ID twice. Im only contacting thru here since i dont know how to solve this issue!!

A client just sent me an offer and it says that my account is not available- My actual account is Magali Ghenadenik, can someone help me out on this?? I need to start working ASAP. Thanks

Hello. Yes I have already went through the verification process, I just did it again just now, but it wont let me take any jobs in the meantime since my account is suspended. I know it says i have to wait a few days  but everytime I reenter Upwork it keeps asking for me to do it as if nothing happened. Its been 3 days already, could you please check it? I already completed everything.

Hello, I am refering to another account which is Magali Ghenadenik (**Edited for Community Guidelines**). I mentioned that i only created this account because in my actual account, since it is suspended due to the no verification of my ID, it wont let me write on the forums for help, so i had no choice but to find another way to reach out. Im not planning to use this acc I just want the Magali account to get verified so I can keep working, please check that one! Thanks.

I need support I have done this twice and received the id badge now the system gives me an error that :

I have done this and you have absolutely no resources to speak with someone to clear it. Poor service on your end and you expect us to be compliant yet you are not willing to fix common technical issues that put my account in jeopardy? WOW great support you have here.

I went to Upwork Support Center and found this topic

It says to contact Upwork Support if that doesn't work, which conveniently has a chat window on the bottom right of the page to engage with them.  I'd give that a try and see how it goes 👍

Hello everyone. I have an account on the Upwork, which I verified and successfully worked with for a long time. This situation happened the other day, I went on vacation to another country and when I logged in from a different IP address, I was asked to verify again to confirm my identity. I sent all the documents I needed, but I was sent for another additional check. There is a problem that they write that my current address, which I specified, is missing. Plus, for some reason they are asking me to replace my photo. After sending the next documents for verification, they say that not only is there no such address, but my name is also missing. On top of that, I can't make any changes in my account because the button doesn't work. Who can help?
