Hi All,
Why is it that potential clients are still able to send me invitations despite me indicating that I am not available for any new work? Is there any way to prevent anyone from sending me invitations?
I ask because it's annoying having to repeatedly log in to Upwork and decline invitations, but if I don't do this then I get penalised on my job success score (incidentally I feel this is one of the crappier aspects of Upwork since many clients just send out hundreds of invitations indiscriminately).
Regards,
TobyM

It appears you have already set yourself to unavailable.
That blocks most, but not ALL, invitations.
You may still receive invitations from clients you have worked with in the past, clients who bookmarked you previously, or clients who are referred to you but Upwork talent specialists.
You are correct in observing that setting yourself to unavailable does not block ALL invitations.
For those who don't know how to do that:
Log into Upwork.
The default page displays this:
Click on the "edit pencil" icon and see this:
Change your setting.

1) You can still get invites, but ignoring them has no effect on your responsiveness score.
2) Whether you respond or not has absolutely NO effect on your job success score, only on your responsiveness score which is meaningless. (And when you are set as not available it does not even affect your responsiveness score anyway.)
