after i finished the project, the project manager asked me to pay money to connect to their server so i can get paid
and the website says that job is cancelled, he says that is because i finished it. is that safe or fake?

No, this is all wrong.
Do not send money or connect to anything.
Was this a fixed price job or hourly?

Mariam, a friendly piece of advice... your profile is basically non-existing. You claim to be able to translate from Arabic to English, yet your level of English is "conversational". Please remember that scammers love profiles like yours. Be careful.

You need a strong profile, a great portfolio, and solid skills. In all honesty, I don't think your data entry experience will get you anything good, but only lots, lots, lots of scams.

re: "project manager ask you to send money"
Fortunately you are smart enough to know that it would be silly for a project manager to ask a freelancer to send money.

One or more people reported the job posting for being a scam and upwork took it down.

If you went outside of Upwork and were "hired" after being interviewed on Telegram or Skype, you never really had a job - those are all scams. You aren't going to get paid, they will just keep thinking of ways to get more money from you. Do not agree to any more interviews outside of Upwork, and do not do any work unless you are hired via Upwork.
You need to spend time reading everything about how to use Upwork, do not offer translation services since you're not qualified to do that, and spend time working on your profile (meaning hours, not minutes). That's the only way that you'll have even a small chance of attracting a real client.
