"Direct Message" from Prospective Client

I have received a direct message from a potential client regarding a new project he might want my help with.

Upwork’s Direct Messages page…

…says, “Additional information is included in the first Direct Message notification email that is sent to freelancers when a Direct Message conversation is initiated.”

However, I see no such information available, so I have no idea what the client’s track record is on Upwork, etc.

How can I review this client’s record on Upwork?

Unfortunately, you can't see much at all. I've had several of those, 2 were clear scams, and the other two still "weirded me out" because it is like talking to someone completely blindly, so I didn't take it any further.

The email has the title "You received a direct message from a client" (in case it ended up in spam or something and you want to hunt for it)

I wish Upwork would be consistent in doing what it says it's going to do. Freelancers already have to fly blind with new clients compared to the information clients can see about freelancers.
