What is this about the blue bar that I keep reading? what is it's essence?what does it represent?
Is upwork flexible enough to contain all African countries? or maybe it was just intended to suits a specific country.
How do I optimize upwork to get the best out of it?

Upwork welcomes all people, from all over the world. It's quite a melting pot we have here. Smiley Happy

James, if you are new to Upwork, the blue bar is not really signficant for the moment. For the rest, none  of us can help you make your way on Upwork as your profile is set to private. Added to which, I am fairly certain, that although the sunset photo is very attractive, if you are a freelancer, you need a pic. of yourself or no pic. at all (a silhouette).

"Profile photos should be clear and appropriate for a professional, global community. Logo, clip art, group pictures, or heavily digitally manipulated pictures are prohibited."

Country, race, gender have nothing to do with anything. What is important is  what you can offer to a potential (serious) client.
