use of UpWork as a generic job board

Is it just me or is anyone else out there seeing this trend of people trying to use UpWork as a generic job board now instead of what the site is intended for? I would think that someone at the company would screen such things but not from my recent observations......

It depends on what you mean by "generic job board." If you're comparing this to an employment site that provides job listings for potential employees--you're right, and I think it's Upwork 's doing.

Some of their recent marketing campaigns have focused on attracting clients who want to hire full-timers. So, instead of just freelancers and freelancing, a lot of folks show up looking for part-time or full-time jobs, and several clients are creating jobs posts strictly to hire employees or convert a freelancer to a full-time employee.

Upwork pretty much forecasted this move a few years back when implementing the "Contract-for-hire" feature which allows freelancers to start a contract and later explore a full-time option.
