Mates: Does Upwork really WORK?

Used to purchase connects until they gave 80+ free, maybe

they are free for a reason - that something isn't working.

Verfied clients that post jobs and these jobs are never closed.

They stay open for months on end and linger //

Maybe just maybe - make connects 100% free and aim on

profiting from completed jobs, because right now purchasing

connects is a scam. This platform is **Edited for Community Guidelines** near not interactive,

like one end of the users isn't important, that'd be the freelancers really.

I think the scams would get worse without paid connects. Paid connects create a small barrier to entry. If everyone was able to bid for free, jobs would go from receiving 50 plus proposals to hundreds - and lots of those proposals would come from bots. If that happened, paying clients wouldn't be as likely to post and hire on Upwork. Instead of giving connects away, I honestly wish they'd charge more.

So, freelancers have to pay to apply for jobs, but clients don't have to pay anything to post them? Why? It's one of the reasons there are so many fake clients and scams. There is no cost to join or post.
