good morning.
I did a job for a client (**Edited for Community Guidelines**. The customer had to pay me a milestone of half the sum equal to 230 $ he did not pay on the established date (23 August) so when I finished the job and I saw that the customer did not pay me I requested payment. the customer agrees to pay the milestone September 1, but he made the wrong amount and instead of paying $ 230 he paid me $ 690 so he immediately asked me the refund of $ 460 saying that he sends me the right amount that is due me. I made the repayment requested immediately, so I stayed with $ 230 paid, and the client had to pay me another $ 235. The customer has not paid me more ($ 235) no longer responds to my messages, the customer has disappeared.

I don't quite understand your timeline.
You had a job with 2 milestones? So you finished the work for the first milestone and went to the "my jobs" page and submitted your work for payment with the "submit your work for payment" button? What do you mean by established day for payment?
After you submit your milestone, the client can approve the milestone within 14 days, or if he does nothing, the payment will be released to you after 14 days.
Here is where it gets cloudy. Did he fund the second milestone? Was there a second milestone?
If there was no second milestone, or the second milestone was not funded, it is very likely you are out that amount now.
Never submit work, if no milestone is in place, or it is not funded, as you will not be payment protected then. Upwork can't help you if those rules are not followed.

Further to this, it seems that the contract was ended by the client, and you even received feedback. So this one is closed.
If he wants to pay you any additional amount, he has to either open a new contract, or pay you a bonus on the closed contract, which I believe is possible to do for some time. (enlighten me, fellow upworkers!)
The most likely outcome is, you will never hear from that client again.

"what should I do?"
Learn how Upwork works before making an even bigger mistake. You are lucky if you only loose out $235.

It is not quite clear if the OP delivered the entire job for half the sum due, or that, after a seemingly genuine mistake by the client, was in fact, paid what was due for the first part of the job. The client then closed the contract and left a publicly good feedback.
From what I can see, the client seems to be a good one with excellent feedback and seems to have paid his/her freelancers on time.

Confusing to me too. This is what should have been done.
Yoiu complete the scope of work required for milestone 1. The client paid $690 instead of the milestone 1's $230, --- You could have only refunded $225 thus leaving the full amount in escrow. All you had to do at that point was finished the rest of the job. Or, you could have refunded the $465 and then waited for the client to fund the correct amount $235 for milestone 2 BEFORE you continued working on that milestone.
You will not hear back from this client. They got their work done for 1/2 price. You've been scammed.
