Include specific examples of your past work, achievements, and experience that demonstrate your expertise. Quantifiable results (e.g., "increased sales by 20%" or "managed a project with a budget of $50,000") can be particularly persuasive.
2. **Skills Section:**
List skills that are most relevant to the services you provide. This not only helps potential clients understand what you offer but also improves your profile's visibility in searches.
If possible, get endorsements for your skills from colleagues or clients. These can add credibility to your profile.
3. Portfolio:
Showcase Your Work Add a portfolio section with examples of your work. Use visuals and detailed descriptions to highlight what you did and the impact it had. Even if you can't show specific client work, consider creating samples or case studies.
Include a range of projects to showcase your versatility and the breadth of your skills.
4. Professional Photo:
- Ensure you have a professional, friendly photo. A clear, well-lit headshot where you're dressed appropriately can make a good first impression.
5. Certifications and Education:
- Highlight any certifications, courses, or degrees relevant to your field. These can help establish your expertise and set you apart from the competition.
6. Client Testimonials:
- If you have past clients who are willing to provide testimonials, add these to your profile. Positive feedback from satisfied clients can be very compelling for potential new clients.
7. Rates and Availability:
- Clearly state your hourly rate and availability. This helps potential clients know if you're within their budget and when you're available to take on new projects.
Remember, your profile should convey your professionalism, expertise, and enthusiasm for the work you do. Keep it updated as you gain more experience and complete more projects.
I hope these suggestions help you refine your profile. Best of luck with attracting new clients on Upwork!
Best regards,
Bernardine💙

Neha,
Your lack of details is troubling. You start with "Award-winning Social Media Manager." But you never say what the award is called, who gave it to you or what it was for? Was it for one project or a group of projects? Was it an individual award or given to a team?
Interestingly, your portfolio section describes your successes with more details. Your first portfolio item tells us that sales inreased and that your clients were happy with the results. This kind of thing needs to be spelled out in your write-up as well.
You also very quickly resort to a list of your accomplishments and working style. But nobody (honestly) reads lists. This is much more effectively told in a narrative form. "I worked for ____________ for _____________ years and obtained an average increase in impressions of 500 percent."
Again, nobody reads lists. I, for one, stop reading the first time I see a flashy icon, such as a party hat, a megaphone or a smiley face. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned. My contention is that in order to be viewed as a professional, you have to write in a professional manner. Clearly, many people disagree here, but flashy icons just look childish to me. If it's important, why do you need to decorate? If it's important, icons will only get in the way, as far as I'm concerned.
Those are my thoughts. I suggest a narrative, straightforward style. Include your validating details in your write-up. Keep the lists to a minimum. Otherwise, yes, your competence and friendliness are both apparent. No worries there.
Good luck.
