Profile Feedback - Sound Editor

Hello! Im a Sound Editorf from Argentina and i work for Audiovisual and Podcast projects. I am currently looking for freelance work in these areas and would like to get some feedback on my profile.

Hello Tomas,

 

I think you can optimize your profile overview/summary by avoid unnecessary words and immediately tell clients about your experience, your services, and how you can help them. Clients don't care about personal endeavors or why you do what you do--not unless you tell them how it benefits them.

 

I recommend focusing on experience and services, and avoiding unneeded words. For example:

 

I have 4 years of experience editing audiovisual projects and now exploring podcast editing. I create, assemble, and refine the audio elements in film, television shows, video games, or other media production. I study sound direction and post-sound production, and currently use Pro Tools for audio editing.

 

After this, your summary must go further to help clients understand why they should hire you. For example:

 

  • Tell clients how you communicate and gather feedback to ensure the final product meets their needs.
  • Do you provide unlimited edits and revisions? Do you offer follow-up support after a product is delivered?
  • Since a sound editing is a project, mention your time management and organizational skills and availability.
  • Can you highlight any audio editing projects you have worked on and your accomplishments?
  • Talk about your ability to meet business challenges and adapt to changing or new requirements if necessary.

 

Clients are looking for reasons to choose you and the information you provide can help them better understand why they should hire you and how it will benefit them.

 

Other suggestions:

 

1) Be sure your skills list contains the skill categories related to your work. You could add Avid Pro Tools, Podcast, Podcast Editing and maybe a few other relevant to your services. Upwork uses these skill categories to match you with relevant jobs, and to help your profile appear in search results when clients search for those skills.

 

2) You may want to add one or two Specialized Profiles that focus on specific services or completely unrelated services. Having a specialized profile can help increase a freelancer's searchability.
