Syed,

You are badly overselling yourself. Slow down. Get your feet back on planet Earth. You've overdone it to the point that you sound untrustworthy.

A professional says what he or she can do and let's the client make up their own mind. You sound like you are badgering the clients. They will feel you pressuring them. They will run from that.

Start by putting VISIBLE and PROFITABLE in lower case letters. That should be visible and profitable. When you put things in capital letters like that, it looks like you are shouting at people. People will run from that kind of arrogance.

"Your digital success is my mission." You say that way too soon. Besides, it is a hackneyed phrase -- a cliche. And it is probably not even true. You are doing this to earn a living, not to make the world a better place. We all know that. So stop kidding yourself. Just say you always try to do a good job. What's wrong with that? When you use the word "mission" you have badly overreached your own limitations.

Keep it simple. Keep it real. Tell people what you do and tell them the experiences that prove you know what you are doing. Don't promise the moon and the stars. You're an SEO  expert, not a miracle worker.

Your job title is "SEO Specialist / SEO Audits, Local and Technical SEO, GSC Expert.

A job title should be focused. Yours is way too long and it repeats SEO three times. You could say SEO Expert ... and that would be fine. What's wrong with that? I don't know what GSC means, so maybe you could say SEO and GSC Expert.

That is about as long as it should be. SEO and GSC Expert is four words. What you have now is 10 words. That is not pithy enough.

The job title should be a title that tells people they should read your write-up. People are not supposed to read your job title. They should glance at it and then move down to your write-up. It has to be shorter.

Good luck to you.

Hey Anthony,

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your concern about keeping things simple and clear. Allow me to clarify a few points:

  1. Caps for Emphasis: I use "VISIBLE and PROFITABLE" in caps to highlight key results clients can expect. It's about drawing attention, not shouting.
  2. Mission Statement: "Your digital success is my mission" expresses my dedication to client success. While it may seem clichéd, it reflects my genuine commitment to delivering quality results.
  3. Detailed Job Title: My title, "SEO Specialist | SEO Audits, Local & Technical SEO | GSC Expert," is designed to clearly outline my specific expertise areas. This can help potential clients immediately see my qualifications and how I can help them.

While I value your perspective, I believe these elements help differentiate my profile and articulate my capabilities.

I am a trained clinical psychologist, Syed. The idea here is that people say a group of words ... and the meaning doesn't come across. When you speak, you communicate two things: Information and intention.  You have good information in your profile, but your intention tells me a lot more than that.

For starters, you wrote your profile in English, not Punjabi or Sindhi. Or Pashto. This tells me something you may have intended ... maybe you didn't. There are many layers to meta-commuication, which relies on psychology training to figure out.

The science of marketing and sales is very extensive. On top of that, freelancing has a culture of its own. In many Middle-Eastern countries, for example, it is rude if you don't start with "Hi, my name is ____________." In the culture of freelancing, that is a mistake.

Anyway, good luck. Thanks for the reply.

Thank you for the thoughtful analysis. I completely agree that communication involves more than just words; intentions and cultural nuances play a big role.

You're right, my choice to write my profile in English reflects my target audience - international clients seeking SEO expertise. While I'm fluent in Urdu and Punjabi, I understand that effective communication on a global platform like Upwork often necessitates using a widely understood language.

Your point about cultural differences in freelancing is well taken. I'll definitely keep that in mind and adapt my approach as needed. I value your insights as a clinical psychologist, and I appreciate you taking the time to offer this feedback.

Thank you again, and best of luck to you as well!
