Request for profile review

Hello Everyone,

 

Kindly assist on reviewing my profile. I joined this platform in 2014 and got about 3 contracts but i could not keep on because of some other life challenges. I have been away for a long time but now i want to work on upwork on full time based. I have made some updates on my profile and i will appriciate your reviews.

Hello Saula,

 

The first thing you should do is change your profile photo. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.

 

Here are several updates you can make to improve your profile:

 

1) I recommend using an even number hourly rate that ends in .00. Round numbers are usually perceived as clearer and easily understandable by consumers/clients. I believe $4.00/hr will be more appealing to clients, and recognized as more trustworthy.

 

2) Your profile overview/summary does not have enough information to convince clients to hire you. To make your profile more appealing to clients, provide more information about your ability to help clients. Clients want to briefly hear about your experience, but your services are more important. Use your summary to tell clients what you can do as a virtual assistant; mention your experience as a virtual assistant; talk about the benefits of your virtual assistance services; and provide any other information that helps clients see the value in hiring you. For example:

 

  • Give more examples of your virtual assistance services (e.g., answer and make phone calls, respond to emails and chat inquiries, document preparation, scheduling meetings, etc.)
  • Talk about your accuracy, attention to detail, and how you can maintain quality standards.
  • Also talk about your time management and organizational skills.
  • Which software applications and tools are you familiar with?
  • Talk about your ability to solve administrative problems and adapt to changing or new requirements if necessary.

 

You are competing with hundreds of thousands of data entry specialists, so clients need several reasons to choose you.

3) I recommend adding more items to your portfolio to show samples of previous work or to demonstrate your skills. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

 

You may want to add one or two Specialized Profiles that focus on specific services or completely unrelated services. Having a specialized profile can help increase a freelancer's searchability.

 

The biggest improvement you can make is your summary. After you update it, clients will better understand your ability to help them and why they should hire you.
