A quick important question

I specialize in translate and transcribe documents audio video but I have a question when I see someone posting a job attaching documents, they need to actually hire you before you translate etc? or they expect someone to translate and attach the translated document on the job proposal? Sorry if this is a bad question I just need to figure that out since I'm new here.

It's not a bad question if you don't know the answer to it. This is the right place to ask.

If you have not been hired, then you do not have a job.

If you have not been hired, then you will not be paid.

Do they expect you to translate the document and attach it as part of the job proposal?

NO.

They do not expect that.

Upwork does not expect that.

In fact Upwork prohibits clients from asking freelancers to work for free, or to work without a contract.

The attached file is there so that you have the information you could want about what the job will entail. Not so that you can do the job before being hired to do so.

Thanks for answering and for the information, I just was confused
