If you are asking if your amount of online presence directly affects affects any Upwork algorithms that help you receive invitations or help you get picked for jobs... the answer is: No.

Here is a simple experiment:

Click on my profile photo or name. Click over to my Upwork freelancer profile page. Consider whether or not you think I am successful in getting hired on Upwork.

Now consider this:
I ALWAYS have my "online/offline" setting manually set to OFFLINE.

As far as Upwork systems are concerned: I am ALWAYS offline.

Has this hurt my ability to succeed on Upwork?
