It is not "against the rules" provided it is a real job and a real client... (Not a friend / relative hiring you to get you started)
One word of warning - you have not done any jobs on Upwork yet, and clients may not take you as seriously as a copywriter and translator when the only work you have on your profile is a data entry one, especially if it is for little money.
