Are we allowed to add a calendly link to our cover letters for scheduling clients?

Sure, if you want to.
As a client, I wouldn't like seeing something like that.
But Upwork doesn't resrict you from adding links to your cover letters, including links that have contact information or (weirdly) scheduling information.
Just make sure if you accept any jobs, all payments go through Upwork.
Even though Upwork has no rules against it... (and has no practical way of enforcing a rule against it if they instituted a rule against it)... I do wonder:
Why would you include a calendly link in a cover letter? A cover letter is submitted to a prospective client. Why would you include a way to schedule an appointment with you, when you have not even been hired yet?

Preston, not all of us are in the same fortunate position you are, of having clients tripping over themselves in their desperation to hire you. Most of us have to hustle for work.

True, but look at that from a client's perspective. You are perusing a huge number of proposals, and you are feeling a little overwhelmed by the sheer numbers. Who do you shortlist? The ones that are the most professional, that understand how upwork works, and that are not too pushy or desperate. It is really easy for a client to interview a freelancer before hiring, and all communication is easily done with upwork tools.
