Can I be based in a different country but get work from the US?

Hi, so I have this situation where I have been working at a company in the US but will be relocating to another country soon. My current company would like to keep me but think it'd be better to officially hire me through a freelance platform like Upwork for recording purposes and ease of payment. I was wondering if there would be any issues arising from UpWork that restricts the situation? I have read around and it seems like there would not be a problem but I'd just like to be sure on this front. Thank you!

You're right. You can work with your clients regardless of the country (except to those countries where Upwork don't offer their service) you are currently residing in. Thank you!
