Can I remove the background of my profile picture?

I do not edit my face or the main photo. I just want to remove the background of my photo so that I can give a solid white background. Again, the main image of my face or body is not altered in any way. Can I use such a photo as upwork profile picture?

Hi Mohammad,

I would like to clarify that it is best not to edit your photo in any way. Please know that your profile photo should be a clear, headshot-style photo of you which is cropped from the top of your head, and just below your shoulders, and:

• you are not wearing sunglasses in the photo;
  
• it is not a logo or clip-art;
  
• it is not a group photo;
  
• the photo was not digitally-altered
