Hi,

I will be soon starting my first job on UpWork and I have a (perhaps silly) question for you to answer. Can I actually use a browser to search information online (e.g. code snippets, APIs documentation, etc.) or will that frowned upon by UpWork? I won't definitely be using it for anything else (e.g. Facebook, emails).

I've read about someone not being protected by the hourly protection because they had their Chrome tab open (not sure about what website they were surfing on though). Please note this is going to be an hourly job and my activity is going to be tracked by the UpWork app.

Thanks!

Cesare

It's fine. Don't worry about. Upwork doesn't care if you use a web browser to do research.

Some freelancers are hired to do nothing but use a web browser to do research.

This is between you and your client.
