Can a client pay me if I don't have a Tax identification number?

I have recently requested a tax identification number from my Country's designated office but I can't provide this to Upwork's Tax info right now.

I have finished a project and my client is ready to pay and I want to make sure that they will be able to. 

I am fine with waiting to withdraw until the government sends over my tax ID - I just don't want to create a hassle for the client. 

So, can a client pay if I don't have a Tax identification number?

Hi Nicole,

Yes, the client can still process their payment for the project even if you haven't completed your tax information yet. As you mentioned, you just won't be able to withdraw your available funds until all of your information is complete.
