Can freelancers see my shortlist, etc.

I've posted a job and am receiving proposals.

Can freelancers see..

  1. if I viewed their proposal?
  2. if I shortlisted them?
  3. if I archived them?
  4. if I declined other proposals?

Also, how do I see how my profile appears to freelancers?

No to all the questions, they just see a range of the number of proposals, how many people were invited, how many are being interviewed, and how many unanswered invites there are.

To see how your "profile", which is purely what is visible on the job post, looks, just view your own job posting.

Hi Stephen,

1. if I viewed their proposal

No.

2. if I shortlisted them?

No.

3. if I archived them?

No, unles you declined their proposals and included a message for them, in which case they will receive a notification.

4. if I declined other proposals?

No

Also, how do I see how my profile appears to freelancers?

Clients don't have profiles on Upwork and freelancers can see your work and feedback history, along with your location, billing method status and previous activity details below and on the right side of  your job post.

what does the shortlist even mean?

re: "what does the shortlist even mean?"

When a client posts a job, freelancers are able to submit proposals.

Clients can see all the proposals. They can "discard" proposals they are not interested and highlight proposals they are most interested in, thus forming a shortlist.

Hello.  Thank you for your explanation, but I still don't understand how shortlist is used

If you "shortlist" someone is that a good thing or a bad thing?

If someone is "shortlisted" are they "discarded?"

or are they added to a shorter list of "liked" contractors?
