I have had two different clients reach out to me regarding their job posting and then proceeded to have all our communications through Skype chat. I have been reading we should only be communicating through upwork but wanted to know how to proceed if this happens again. Just trying to figure out what's a scam or not.

If there is no contract in place, do not communicate with clients outside of Upwork. Many clients who suggest using Skype are indeed scams, but regardless, it's a ToS violation to take the conversation off Upwork before a contract is in place.

Scam or not, communication must remain on Upwork before a contract is in place on Upwork.
