I've a client outside of upwork with whom I want to do business on upwork as it will grow my profile. I want to ask about the procedure to do that as I'm new to upwork. Is it, he is going to post a job and then I'm going to bid on it or is there any other way proceed?
And how I can take recommendations from him?

Hi Muhammad,
You can share your profile URL with your client and they can click on the Hire button. If they are not a member yet, they will be prompted to sign up firths, and then they will be able to hire you. Thank you.

Thanks @Goran. There's one other thing related to this Q/A:
The client sent me a proposal and I see that Upwork charges 20% fee and if I'm going to send the Direct contract Upwork is going to charge 3.4% fee, so I want to ask that what is the difference between Direct contracts that I send and the one that client is going to send?

Hi Muhammad,
Feel free to check out this help article for more information about and the difference between Direct Contracts from other Upwork contracts. You can manage your Direct Contracts by clicking on the icon in your navigation bar.
Thank you.
