Why do clients still ask for per audio hour rate when the job is on an hourly basis?

Likewise, why do clients ask for price per word when the job is on an hourly basis?

Here's one of that link : **Edited for Community Guidelines**

Hi Ian,

Depending on the job specifics and niche characteristics, some clients do prefer to have the information you mentioned in order to be able to have a clear idea of what freelancers are charging for certain services, since charging per audio hour or word is the standard in certain industries. This information can be later used during the interview to further specify the Hourly rate or the Milestone amount for the contract.
