Contract Closing questions

I completed the job, client kept the contract open because he has more work.  Shouldn't they close the contract (send feedback), then open a new contract for the new work and find me again if they did want me to work with them again?  I don't know the client process for closing/hiring... And are they charged per contract?  Thanks!

You may want to read this help article to know how contracts with earnings, but no feedback, will affect your profile's Job Success Score. 

To clarify, clients are charged a fee for each payment billed on their billing method.
