Customer reviews from my personal website

Hi!

I am in a process of creating my UpWork account and, since I have no track record here yet, I am thinking about including customer reviews I have on my personal website. Then I began wondering -If I have the same customer reviews on my website and my UpWork account, will that affect the SEO of my website? I don't know very much about SEO but I know the rule of the thumb is not to duplicate contents in two different web pages or Google may recognize the content as unauthentic and can penalize you by ranking your site low? How does everyone handle this issue?
