Defining GBP pricing for "UK ONLY" projects

Hi all, 

I'm new to upwork. I'm UK based and primarily I'm interested mainly in UK only projects.

However, I noticed that even on UK projects the currency is set to $ which doesn't make sense.

Can you please advise how I can change this to GBP.

Hi Kieran,

The default currency is in USD. Access to UK only jobs gives you the oppotunity to connect with clients who want to work with freelancers in this location. This doesn't change the default currency that Upwork uses.

Well, I'm new to Upwork, too, and I have to say that that is pretty shoddy.  Not sure I'll be here for very long, if those in charge can't sort this out.  Your response was late 2019.  It's now four years later and the problem still persists. It's amateurish at best.
