Do All Proposals Receive a Response?

I am new to Upwork and have submitted a handful of proposals, all with no response. I'm wondering what the typical wait time is that others experience? Do all proposals eventually get a response?

Many proposals will never receive a response. The client will only respond to proposals that they are interested in.
