Error message "This email address uses Google Sign-In" for a login email address that is NOT Gmail.

I am trying to login with a NON-GMAIL email and get this error message: "This email address uses Google Sign-In." It is not a Gmail I am using on my Upwork account to login.  How do I fix this error message without being able to login my account? I have an active job I cannot manage right now because I cannot get into my account. I have used Upwork for many years with a former company. If I were new to Upwork I'd never use this website again.

I had to create a new login to post this message and seek a fix.
